COMMITTEE
Chair
Ian Frazer was elected as Chairman of the DAWFL at the 2011 AGM and had been a League Council member since 2004. He has a long involvement with Comber YM, for whom he is Chairman. Ian also represents the League at the County Antrim FA Council and County Antrim Junior Challenge Shield Committee, most recently serving as Chairman of the Junior Challenge Shield Committee. Ian is also a member of the Irish FA Council, and has served on the Irish FA Disciplinary Committee.
Vice Chair
Archie Walls has a long association with the DAWFL through Bangor Swifts and will be assisting the Chair from the start of the 2024-25 season.
Secretary
Alan Robinson played for Comber Star in the 70s and 80s, before a stint in management for the same club and subsequently getting involved in administration as their secretary. Whilst with Comber Star, he was co-opted onto the League Council in 2016, since which time he’s been writing detailed reports for publication in the local newspaper, the Newtownards Chronicle, as well as publication on a Facebook Group, Dennis S Nash Sporting Snippets. In 2018 Alan became a Sports Chaplain through Sports Chaplaincy UK, and at that time he was only the second DAWFL Sports Chaplain. Alan has now moved to Newtownards RBL as their secretary and represents the League on the County Antrim FA Council and County Antrim Junior Shield Committee as well as serving currently on the Irish FA Council. Alan is also one of the Irish FA’s Mental Health Champions, rolling out the Irish FA’s mental health programme, Ahead of the Game.
Treasurer
Bill Smyth was co-opted onto the League Council in 2018, and is currently the Chair of Willowfield Parish 10th OB. During 2023-24 he assisted the then treasurer, Simon McCoy, and will be taking on the main treasurer role from the start of the 2024-25 season.
League Council
Simon McCoy came onto the League Council in 2001, serving as Treasurer from 2008 until the end of the 2023-24 season. He was previously Secretary of Holywood FC from November 2000 until the start of the 2009/10 season, although he’s still involved with his hometown club as their representative on the DAWFL. Simon is also a member of the County Antrim FA Council and County Antrim Junior Challenge Shield Committee, and following a period of time on the Irish FA Council, has recently become a member of the Irish FA Board.
League Council
Dessie Adams has been a League Council member since 2016 and has a long association with Ards Rangers.
League Council
Michael Wilson joined the League Council in the 2014-15 season and also acts as the County Antrim FA Treasurer and DAWFL Auditor. Michael also represents the League on the County Antrim FA Council and Country Antrim Junior Challenge Shield Committee and also serves on the Irish FA Board. He’s associated with Cooke Athletic, formerly 8th OB.
League Council
Richard Warnock, aka Ricky, is the newest member on the League Council, being elected at the 2023-24 Annual General Meeting. Ricky has been involved in Junior Football for a long time, firstly with Ravenhill YM, then Comber Star and most recently with Agape.
Other League Officials
James Fegan acts as the DAWFL Referee’s Convenor and has been in the role for over 30 years.
